The label of this red wine is designed from Appearance of Crosses drawn by artist Ding Yi, with his autograph.
From the 1980s, Ding Yi has been portraying crosses and grids. From the art theories of minimalism, he condenses repeated work and unconscious psychology on canvas. He develops comprehensive ways to express himself from colors, style of drawing and materials. Abstract drawing was taken as something developed as an achievement, which can not be divided from Ding Yi;s efforts. What stay behind the abstract is recognition of art conceptions and pursuit of independent spirit, which corresponds with Shanghai culture.
Ding Yi is regarded as an pioneer of China"s abstractionists and wins a wide reputation around the world. He is also the first Chinese artist who designed products for top-notch brand Hermes. His masterpieces were exhibited in numerous exhibition halls and organizations. Such as Venice Biennial(1993), Yokohama Triennale(2001), and Guangzhou Biennial(2002).
